How does TELEHEALTH work?
You have the option of consulting with the nutritionist virtually (Online) or in person. That means you can have appointments with your nutritionist from the comfort of your own home or where you are comfortable?

You have a few options online: 1) zoom (open source) or 2) Doxy.me which is HIPPA compliant platform that support video sessions with our clients!

How do I use Doxy.me?
Doxy.me is very simple to use. No downloading required. Just click on your unique link supplied by your nutritionist after your appointment date and time is confirmed.

After you receive your unique link, all you do is enter in your name. You will then be automatically placed in the virtual waiting room where your nutritionist will initiate the call with you.

Give us a call/text at 301-377-4523 so that the nutritionist can resend you that link!

Do I need any special equipment to use Doxy.me?
You can use your computer or smart phone to connect on Doxy.me. Please note: No downloading is required.

Are Telehealth nutritionist visits covered by insurance?
Please note that we cannot make any guarantees of Telehealth insurance coverage. Feel free to ask your insurance provider and check to see if you have virtual counseling benefits in your plan. Currently, we only take CIgna insurance for nutrition visits.

How to prepare for your Telehealth visit?

  • First, we would recommend accessing the app in advance, and testing it to ensure the video and microphone both work on your device. 
  • You can check your internet computer speed. It is also very helpful to have fast enough internet speed to handle the software. 
  • Close other programs/windows that are open
  • Avoid downloading any large files during the session
  • Prepare your space to limit your distractions.
  • Find a quiet place to take the call (Make sure to close the door, turn off the TV/music, and separate yourself from noisy/distracting pets and children).
